Pat Buchannon: What we owe to NAFTA

Something to think about next time you wonder who is going to wash your car.

Good article, Chuckie. One with which I agree.

Quote:
In the Golden State, where one in three illegal aliens from Mexico settles, native-born Californians have begun a mass exodus. During the 1990s, the white population fell for the first time since the gold rush. As middle- and upper-income taxpayers depart, and poor immigrants, legal and illegal, arrive, the burden on social services, from clinics to courts to schools, soars. This is a primary cause of the budget crisis Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger was elected to solve.
I'd like to make clear that I personally have no problem with immigrants who come here legally and obtain U.S. citizenship. It's the other massive percentage that come - and stay - illegally.

lol SJ - no, you take it to de car wash where the illegals wash it for you

I thought Gray Davis was the primary cause?

First, I don't have a problem with Mexicans, only Mexico. We should be working to destabilise Mexico and get another government in there. A few families own everything, including the government and the military. There is nothing for the people, that's why they are flooding in here. If we put a stop to that, Mexico would crumble - and it is time for it to crumble. Pancho Villa, where are you!

Second, Grey Davis was a liberal with a liberal house and senate who couldn't say "no". Every group that could possibly vote Democratic got "entitlements"! I.E., taxpayer money.

There was recently a big demonstration of people (presumably illegal) demanding driver's licenses for illegals. How arrogant! The schools don't get federal money for illegal butts in seats. Plus, Federal money is often apportioned by population via the census, which excluded illegals.

If we need to import cheap labor to hold the cost of labor down so we can compete with China, then we should at least have a program the gives permission to be here. It used to be called a "green card".

BTW: I am not too proud to wash my car, or cut my lawn.
