It's sites like this one that give that page such high rank for that phrase. Google puts a ton of emphasis on incoming links and the text used to describe them. "I'm feeling lucky" just loads the #1 site for the phrase automatically. I don't think I would call it slanted media, or even media for that matter. It's just a search engine

Google is not nearly as useful as it was a few years ago. I wish they would rethink their formula. Lately, it often returns garbage due to it's link-based ranking.

I haven't noticed any political bias, either. My gripe is that (while I don't have a specific example at hand) I've noticed when searching for consumer-oriented stuff, it often can't even find the main website for major manufacturers (or if it does, it's buried on page gazillion behind multiple listings for essentially the same vendor posing behind different portals).
