Scam #2: The Financing Fell Through Scam (Spot Delivery Scam)

Some Jerk @ Shortline Hyundai in Denver pulled this one on me about 4 years back, when my credit wasn't as good as it is now

They said all was well, go ahead and drive the car home (180 miles). But...go ahead and sign this in the off chance that something might not be right. The paper I signed said I agreed to pay 50cents per mile and $50 daily if the financing fell through. So, like a 21 year old, I signed t
Guy calls back the next week (500 miles and 5 days later = $500!, plus I'd have had to go all the way back, another 180 miles) and says I need 2000 bux more. So, what could I do, I forked over another two G's and still had the same payment amount. Oh well, all's well that nds well

Not bad tips for avoiding scams - a few I'd never heard of around here.

but...I'd strongly recommend NOT cutting & pasting anything from that site!
Read the final paragraph at the bottom of the page!

I find it amusing that a page devoted to pointing out scams has such a paragraph at the bottom - I won't quote it for reasons obvious if you read it...

Ok, here's one more for the road, we got a couple of complaints about this starting in November 2002, and it could be a good candidate for next year's Top 10 List. I call it the "We lowered your payments" scam...blah blah blah....

By copying or paraphrasing the intellectual property on this page, you're automatically signing a binding contract and agreeing to be billed $10,000 payable immediately.

The average sixth grader understands copyright law better than this idiot.
