Cats are Funny

CE and I had to take our two youngest cats in for a check-up and shots this afternoon. Sonny, as usual, had a fit all the way there. He has never liked being put into the cage, but never mind the fact, when it is HIS idea, he is fine with it...

When we got into the room, the first cat to get examined was Polly. Now Polly is quite well behaved, normally.... Dr. Duff wanted to listen to Polly's heart and lungs, and that was when the fu started.... Polly likes to purr, and purr, and purr... so much so, she never stopped purring. Dr. Duff tried running water, no go... She tried some alchohol on a cotton ball, no go... then she tried giving her, not one, but two shots... Care to guess?!? Still purring! From what we can tell, she purred all the way home.

Talk about a mellow cat!

cats r cool, purring cats r cooler.

We have some wild cats..they sort of grew up in the wild on the outskirts of the yard near the woods...raised by a very young cat etc..they ate on the back porch but would run if we went outside..finally I tamed them and now they are good to go indoors or our etc...but they just arent "domesticated" as far as purring, lol..or "playing"..they are just sort of "there".

(still better than a dog ANYDAY)

Often cats are content and happy when purring, but cats also purr when they are nervous, scared, injured, etc.

If you've ever had the displeasure of having to deal with a kitty that has been badly injured, like hit by a car or attacked by a dog, then most likely the cat was purring even though it might be near the end. Theories and research suggest a cat's purr is creating a frequency that can actually aid in physical healing.

I would bet the cat is spoiled rotten, and knows it. (either that or he's raiding the med cabinet.)

My cat is trying to constantly climb the walls.I mean literally. She gets a running start, then jumps up high on the wall.I think the cool weather were having is making her frisky.

That sounds like another of our furballs, Amber. Only she goes for door frames. When she goes after the door frame of our bedroom, she tends to flip her body around, nd ends up hanging upside down!

Outpatient, Yes, I agree that cats purr when they are injured and so on, but the way Polly was acting, I mean her body language and such, she is just one laid back cat.

AE, yes, I just saw the pic, and left a message there for ya!

I have missed you guys too. Between a whole lot of paperwork to sign for the house, and having to battle my bloodsugar back down again, I have been a bit out of it. (As of this morning, my level was 138!)
