A French newsman witnessed the missile firing at the DHL plane in Bagdad!
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...ance&printer=1
He stood there and took pictures! That means he had advanced knowledge! In this country he is part of a conspiracy, press or no press.
Would he have done the same thing if it were a French plane!
Unbelievable!

I did miss that part that he didn't know before hand.
I think he should not have published the photos. Why be an instrument for the enemys propaganda. Take the pictures, stay alive, dump the film.

As I thought... you had not read the article and were only looking for a springboard off of which to bash the French.
As you were.

Gomer, are you so narrow minded as to really (and truly) believe that the photographer (reporter?) would actually make it known if he/she had advance notice?....surely, any person in their right mind would fake a coverup of some kind.
It is widely known that reporters (ours as well) have access to almost anybody they want..except perhaps the very higest up individuals..and they interview these people and keep their names and locations secret.
If by some stretch of the imagination you cannot see this, you are most certainly misinformed somewhere.

If by some stretch of the imagination you cannot see this, you are most certainly misinformed somewhere. | First of all, what did I post that gave you the impression that that was my view of the whole matter?
Second, even if I were so narrow minded as to think that... is it more narrow minded to make statements like this Quote: |
He stood there and took pictures! That means he had advanced knowledge!
| without even reading the article to which someone posted a link to at the same time as making that statement?
What the hell did I do to get lumped into the narrow-minded, misinformed population with the statements I made in this thread?
=)

The images were taken by one of the magazine's photographers, Jerome Sessini, who was with the attackers

"They had been asked to come see caches of arms very close to Baghdad and didn't discover the real reason for the operation until the last minute,"
| It clearly states that they did not have advanced knowledge.

My only response is : So what?
Obviously he knew of the operation before hand. So did the FOX News and other media that filmed massacre of Iraqi people including soldiers. How is it not Ok if someone does this but OK that FOX embedded reporters film so many killings?
Hypocritical?
This is a war situation. Both sides will do what they must do.
Remember, their country was invaded. If they retaliate or respond by whatever means they can, are they to be blamed?

That's what he says...
What is the point here?
That I misread the article before I posted it? I admitted it. Get over it Gomer!
Or is it the "correspondents" that add fuel to the fire by acting as propaganda conduits by the enemy. Why didn't they ask an American reporter? If it was an Iranian reporter or Al Jeezera, I would understand. But the French seem have no sense of ethics.
He should have dumped the film. Would he have filmed Saddam's mass executions? Probably.

Journalists have a duty- to report news. Censoring him would not achieve anything. Had it been a FOX reporter I wonder what would have happened.
