Job History on resume

I have been at my current job for about a month but am looking for other opportunities. Should I bother putting a one month job on resume?I don't want to give impression that I job hop. I was with previous company about 7 yrs so i don't job hop but I left that company in June with severance

Thanks All

I'd add it as long as your planning on giving them notice when you leave so that you'll be getting a good refference. Especially given the fact that right behind it it will say 7yrs with one company.

Yes, because if they ask you where you are working now what are you going to say?

The cool answer to why you want to leave a job you just took is to say that you can't stand not working. It drives you crazy. You love work, work loves you. "They made it seem bigger than it was, and I am used to carrying more responsibility. It's not about the money."

I guess it would depend on if it were in the same job category or not. You could probably leave it off and claim unemployed during that month ( y'know, taking some time off from the biz after 7 hard years...extended vacation time with the severance money ).

I'd also leave it off if the current job is similar to what you were working in, or looking for work in because they'll wonder if you will jump ship after a month with them too.

Excellent point and especially true if the new position is offering more money. You don't want to look like a salary hound, always sniffin' around for bigger bucks.

At this point I am willing to take less money not liking the new job much

Thanks all for input

Leave it off. What's the diff if you didn't have a job for three months or six months?
