Can you blame the guy? I wouldn't want to get on a plane, knowing full well that I might not make it to the ground in one piece. He's still human. And he STILL went.

Theo,
I personally was not too keen of the idea of going into two combat zones, but I had a duty to accomplish. Some have a hard time understanding that I guess.

Bush also had a duty to accomplish.
Prop his sagging image and get a huge free publicity.
Yeah, Bush did it for the troops.
And I'm Mr S. Claus.

Hmmm, let's see, eating a nice Thanksgiving dinner with my family in a cozy livingroom in Crawford, Texas, or flying all night then landing with no lights in Baghdad?
I'm not sure which I'd want to do, either.

Unless you were worried about re-election in '04 and this was a god sent opportunity to capitalize on the free publicity.
Like the aircraft carrier landing and the photo ops post 9/11.
President Bush has a penchant for this sort of publicity.

Just reinforces what I've been saying about it being a risk that he had no right taking. The country would be in utter chaos right now had something happened. And it was a VERY REAL possiblility that something could have happened. Regardless of the motives behind the trip, it was a stupid risk and he's damn lucky (as are we) that he got away with it.

Blah blah blah. Come up with something new, Sha. Battering us over and over with the same comments isn't going to make us believe them. | |

Well, M_Six is correct with what he's saying. I don't really want to imagine what it'd be like if Bush's plane got hit with several missiles.
Another scenario that comes to mind: What if his plane was hit but no one was killed? Another personal vendetta?
