Demos: Need to stop Dean from Getting the Nomination!

It looks like the dwarfs are going to eat one of their own...

http://www.washingtontimes.com/natio...0828-7200r.htm

I think the die is cast for Dean. The Democrats noticed the tepid reception Hillary got and can see the handwriting on the wall.

Dean is great for the malcontents, but there aren't nearly enough to win and election. They need a candidate with a sword in his hand!

Republican advice on what is "good" for the Democratic Party! I'll keep it in mind!

Ray,

Democratic Senator Zell Miller pointed this out a few weeks ago. Anyhow, Dean gets the POed liberals motivated, but does nothing for middle America. Odds are the county by county map of 2000 will be almost identical in 2004.

I think this time it'll be difficult for Bush to cheat and finangle his way out. I also feel it will be extremely difficult for him to win this election.

And this is in face of a very average opposition. Had Hillary chosen to run, Mr Bush would have as much chance as he does of finding WOMD in Iraq.

Yes, these 'Democratic leaders and advisers' that are growing anxious about the prospect of antiwar candidate Howard Dean becoming their presidential nominee next year are the same ones that decided to be timid in the 2002 mid-term elections, where the Democrats got murdered.

The way to stop Bush, who's approval rating is about the same as it was when he took office, is not to be Bush-lite but to have a candidate that has an alternate policy and view. Why the party hacks want a "stop Dean" movement in the party is because he is raising his own money from small contributors (like me) who on average have contributed $77 each (I sent more.) In other words, the party hacks can't control Dean and they don't like that.

According to the 11/5/03, Zogby poll, "A majority (53%) of respondents supports the Bush administration’s handling of the war in Iraq, while 44% are opposed. Nearly half (48%) say the effort in Iraq was not worth the lives that have been lost, while 43% feel it was worth it. Nine percent are not sure.

Overall opinion of Bush slipped slightly from September Zogby numbers. Fifth-five (55%) percent have a favorable opinion and 43% have an unfavorable opinion now, compared to 58% favorable and 41% unfavorable in September 22 - 24 polling.

When President Bush is matched against an unnamed (generic) Democratic contender, it’s a dead heat at 41% each. "

I kinda like the idea of Howard "McGovern Mondale Dukakis" Dean running for Prez.

Will the results be like this:

1972 - State Results

this:

1984 - State Results

or this:

1988 - State Results

I can't wait!!

Well, this is the first I've read of Dean, but I don't like what that article says of him. Goes too far.

I've always been more of a republican, but Bush has just about convinced me to go the other way!

IMO, the Dems need a candidate that simply won't repel voters that are against Bush, rather than one that will attract his own following.
Frankly, this guy would push me towards Bush as the lesser evil - which is why I voted against Gore last time! Had the Dems fielded a better candidate in 00, we probably wouldn't be in this mess right now.

Face it, neither party has to do a thing or spend a dime to get the die-hard (R) or (D) votes - those'll come regardless who's name is behind it. They've got to get the middle-of-the-road votes, and that takes middle-of-the-road policies!

It's hard to judge "evil" by it's cover, itsn't it, Ed_S? I hope your eyes are a bit more wide open this time around.

I'm still waiting on an official word from Ralph "The Spoiler" Nader. He handed the last election to the one candidate most diametrically opposed to his agenda, 'ol GW. If he runs again, the same will happen I'm afraid.

STAY HOME, RALPHIE!!!!!
