Introduction from a 7 year ex-con
Hi everyone,
I first want to thank the owner of this site for his efforts.
I was incarcerated in the state and federal system for nearly 7 years. Oregon State Penitentiary was my first stop (24 mos), Then on to FCI Florence, CO. for another 63 mos. I had been involved with drugs at an early age and went down hill until the age of 28, when I landed in prison for Counterfeiting, PCS, Felon in possession of firearm and several forgery charges. It was a long and hard time in prison. I had a wife and several children at home who needed me, and when the feds shipped me to Colorado, my children were unable to visit me. It's hard to explain the feeling of having your 3 year old little girl crying on the phone and begging me to come home. Yes, I did the crime, but the crazy thing I wasn’t really myself, and when I cleaned up, I was in hell.
I eventually did make it back to Oregon (after three years), and finished my sentence at Sheridan FPC. I have been out for over two years now, and have worked hard at several crappy jobs. My wife has always been proud of me, even when I was telemarketing (selling light bulbs, because no one would hire me). She said that she was proud I was earning an honest living. This motivated me through hard times and I kept working hard. I was eventually asked to manage the telemarketing room and given a raise. A year later I was hired by a reputable company and am now the Director of Operations for a successful company. I am also the founder of a new site: prisonkids.com, which is similar to this one, but for prison and jail support. I was cruising around the internet, because one of my biggest hobbies is computers (I just built my system using an MSI K4 ultra board with an AMD 2600+ CPU). Anyway, I just thought I would say hi to everyone. Seems like a cool group. If you know of anyone in prison, don't give up on them.
Thank you again to the owner of this site and everyone involved.

Good to have you onboard...great to hear that you're using your experiences toward the benefit of others...I must commend you on that.
So this is you? http://www.prisonkids.com/old_new_prisonkids.gif
Nice sketches you did while doing time, I wish I had that talent.
Some of us are cool...the rest of the guys are just plain whacked!
Oh, rule #1...we don't talk about my M&M's.
Rule #2...we don't talk about my M&M's.
You got it? I don't want to have to get tough on you already...
Enjoy your stay!
Mike
