Work Ever went CD-rolling?

Know those AOL cds that you get in the mail and also for free at Walmart? Well, the R.A. on our dorm wing has found a fun solution for those things...
He collects them (as well as coasters) and when he has enough (about 25 or so), he gets some guys together and we would roll 'em down the hall with 1 or more guys sitting at each end.
I gotta say it's rather fun, especially when you've got nothing else to do And if you throw those disks just right, they just might do some wicked tricks.

I used mine as frisbees.... my sister would then proceed to mow them up... a delayed version of what I would have tdone to it anyways... if I didn't use it as as coaster..

I save up all the AOL CD's that get mailed to me and those my daughters collect from WallyWorld and combined with other junk CD's. When I get around 100 of them, I head to the skeet range!

I will admit, it takes more golden BB's than standard clay birds and they are a b***h to hit when they level out!

Kinda makes ya' want to shoot skeet with a 12ga. vs a 20ga.

They make really nice light shows when place in a microwave for a sec or two.

I keep the DVD cases that they come in though.

I keep the DVD case. The ugly ones I stick in a microwave. If they look cool enough thought (titanium colored or cool art designes) I sharpen them and use them as throwing disks till they brake! They should be against the law! They can cause pretty severe wounds!

If you drill a small hole along the edge hang them from a string in the tree...they make a nice mobile to reflect sunlight... I have even sawed them into six sided shapes and hot glued them together to make a small dome. I just hate to toss something out...

My fave thing for AOL Virus disks is to 1) put them in the microwave for five seconds or so, to give them an interesting "cracked-glaze" finish, then, 2) drill a small hole in the edge with the Dremel, and string them together for Christmas tree garlands.

Saw a few dozen up, keep them in a bag in your car trunk. Real handy for getting some emergency traction. And sawing an AOL CD up is good for your soul.

No reflection on AOL users, just the opinion of a former AOL slave, errrr...... "volunteer community leader".
