Intel commits to 4GHz Prescott P4 by Q4 '04

http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/3/34127.html

What are they doing? AMD has 64 bit processors
already, and yet Intel is promising an obselete-by-now 4 GHz. processor by the end of NEXT YEAR. must be missing something.

I think they need to trash the idea of increasing GHZ and spend more time on a nice 256 bit processor X 64,000 processors at 1 to 10 GHZ.

I want to see computers advancement to be in
number of processors like.

the 2005 P26,000
or the 2006 P256Kp

Or???

In the meanwhile, the performance gap between the P4 and the Athlon XP's continues to widen!

Anyone seen the comparisons between the Athlon64 and the Itanium lately? (Just wondering if they've been done lately. )

Harder
