Seville Oranges

Can you get them in the mid Atlantic area?
I really want to try making marmalade. I can't find anything in the tiny town stores here that I like. I'm thinking making my own blend

Or does anyone have a favorite brand?

You can get canned Seville oranges, specifically for making marmalade; I think I've seen them at Trader Joe's recently.

Why are they called "Seville" oranges? It makes me think of a little town name Seville just north of me on US17 where they used to grow lots of oranges. Now everything agri in nature in that section of the county is fern.

I remember having the same issues quite a few years back. The seville is more of a bitter orange with a thick outer skin that is perfect for marmalades. I never found em in Houston, can't say I've seen em here either. A Minneola orange has a very nice thick skin that probably could substitute well. You might want to add a little grapefruit rind for some of the other flavor, or lemon or lime???? Never did make that marmalade, Hope you have better luck!!!! I'll look around next week and see if they have any in some of the local stores. How many ya need?

Target!

Trader Joe's huh? Must be nice. I was looking at the frequent flyer today making moanfull heavy sigh sounds...
Closest one is about 2-1/2 hours drive time...

Canned oranges, just doesn't seem appropriate when you want to make fresh home made ...
