Check out this settlement by SanDisk against a Taiwan law firm, who stole stock from SanDisk. Part of the settlement is the Taiwan law firm will provide $18.3 million dollars of legal services to SanDisk. Why would anybody want to have a lawyer representing them that stole buku bucks from the client?

SanDisk Corp., which makes flash-memory cards for digital cameras and mobile phones, said it settled with Taiwan's biggest law firm for $83.3 million after one of the firm's lawyers stole stock from SanDisk's portfolio.

Lee & Li paid SanDisk $20 million in cash and will pay $45 million over four years in quarterly installments.

Sunnyvale-based SanDisk will also receive an $18.3 million credit for legal services from Lee & Li to compensate for the embezzlement of 127.8 million shares in United Microelectronics Corp., SanDisk said in a statement.
