Does anyone remember...

These? I remember them from when I was younger, but I havent seen them since. I guess they went out like the Beta players did. I've googled for them and cant find anything on them. They're old Video Disks, and Im not sure what kind of media they are, but it would be interesting to find more info on them.

If I recall they were about the size of 33 speed LP records.

I also seem to remember that the players for them were quite expensive.

Yeah, I remember that about them. Is there anything on the web about them? That would complete an 80s retro living room.

i remember those well...we used them a lot in our school because there was a lot of educational laserdiscs...this was in the early 90's. I remember that they were identical to cd format...but were the size of an LP in order to hold a dvd's worth of info.

Yeah, we used them in the early-mid 90s in elementary school. Looked like a giant CD.

We actually had quite a few of those things,we thought it was the best thing since sliced bread.
The one we had used a needle like a record player, sort of.When it wore out we couldn't find another one so in the attic it went.It may still be up there
Then we bought a VCR,then we could record a movie.
and no ones collection would be complete without an 8-Track Recorder,so you can record your own 8-Tracks to play in the car WHOO
HOO!
