Those freeeeeekin stock brokers! AARRGH!!!

One of these guys calls me about twice a week at work, usually when I am pretty busy (not that I'd want to talk to them in my spare time anyway). Everyone of them has this slick salesman pitch. I've gotten so sick of it, I simply ask if I can put them on hold, then I just "forget" to pick up.

I don't know. Am I being rude or unreasonable not to want my workday interrupted by a sales pitch?

You are NOT being unreasonable. Rude doesnt matter - they called you while you are working if they cant get it through their heads that you are busy then they need to be in a different job.

You might want to tell them next time they call for them to remove you from their list.

Stockbrokers calling for business from you? That is odd. They don't normally solititate business that way.

Like Vern said, just flat out tell them you are not interested and you consider thier calls as harrassments and will be reported to YOUR management of the office and that if calls don't stop and the company will file a grievence complaint against the stock brokers company for solitiation violations ect....

As a former stock broker with Morgan Stanley, I can tell you that is the only way Brokerage Houses solicit--cold calling.

One reason I resigned in June - fingers getting callouses from dialing 500 numbers everyday.

Ask Knothead--he remembers my complaining everyday about cold-calling.

But, you know what? It works. Out of 200 calls, one peep bites.

So we keep track of each call and if its negative, it only means we are getting close to the peep who's gonna bite.

At 198 rejects, things start getting hot.
