I can't say I'm a fan of the humungoid rims on SUV's fad, but I hope there's a special place in hell for morons who screw with people's rides. My condolences to you and your vehicle.

Why didn't they just take the SUV?

I've had cars that cost less than $4200; what kind of incredible performance did you get from these rims to justify the cost?

You do have insurance, don't you?

Will you show us a photo of these incredible rims before they walked off?

Fortunately, this is covered under comprehensive, usually lower deductible and no rate increase. Unfortunately, sometimes they'll shortchange you on the adjustment for depreciation.

I officially feel better about the pickel I got myself into last night (losing $650 worth of checks that don't belong to me).

Crooks make life hard. It's one of the reasons I have a no theft car--Saturn with stick shift, hand crank windows, and a cheap stereo.

But someone got into my trunk and stole a schachel. They THOUGHT they were getting a laptop. What they got was an underpowered battery jumper and cheap tire air compressor. But no damage to the car! But they did get my good dial tire gage! The hardest thing was the manual for the stereo (reset the clock). But found that on the internet!

Was it up on cinder blocks? Where was it parked? No alarm on it??

I feel you...I remember being a kid and walking outside and my bike was gone, lol. It was worth as much to me as those rims. I did get it back though, walked down the road and found it, lol. I took the solid iron (I guess) bar out of a set of dumbells, weighed about 20 lbs and I walked to the direction where I thought it might have went. I was about 15 maybe. I saw a dude walking back the other way...then I found the bike laying behind a convenience mat.
