Ozone/UV ray question

Lets say you take a fluorescent marker and put it under a Black light(UV). Now take that same marker and bing it out into space. The ozone layer protects us from a lot of UV rays right? Then would the marker glow in space?

No.
Why not?

Black lights only work in the absence of "white light." Turn your black light on outside and stand in the sun. That is prolly what you would see in space.

Fun to let the mind ponder those things isn't it.

Here is one for you. How do you know we all perceive colors the same way? How do we know your rainbow looks like mine? We may both agree that something looks red, but what if your red is my green? You point at something, and say it is red. I would agree because I learned that it was red, but in my head what I am seeing would be green to you. Things look right to you in what ever palette your brain has because you learned things looked right that way.

Science has an answer to that I am sure... but it is interesting to think about anyway.

Never let your brain stop wandering.
