Jeb Bush remarks spark outrage!!

Florida Gov. Bush, remarking that the people of San Francisco may be endangered and, "That's probably good news for the country" has sparked outrage by S.F. Mayor Willie Brown.

Actually, Brown thought it was funny.

Quote:
"When he finally stopped laughing, he said, 'I'm sure this is a tongue-in-cheek comment. I'd feel a little better if the governor would send me one of his alligators; I've got a supervisor that needs companionship."
In the end, I'm sure Mayor Brown will apologize and pledge that no alligators will be harmed under his administration.

It will be interesting to see where the spin machine takes this one. Already, the 'gay' agenda has somehow been interjected even though there was no reference to 'gays' in the statement.

Jeb and George need to keep their mouths shut.

For a couple of years.

Ep, read my post. The outrage thing was a joke. It's just surprising that they managed to keep it on a humorous level.

A lesson that a few of us need to learn.

I hope I haven't offended any Howard Dean supporters with this post.

In case you don't know about the Board of Supervisor flap. Mayor Brown appointed Supervisor Chris Daly ACTING Mayor, while Mayor Brown went to Tibet for a few days.

The post is supposed to be cerimonial. It was an effort by Brown to patch differences with Daly. But while Brown was in Tibet, Acting Mayor Daly used his powers as MAYOR to fill two vacancies to the Public Utilities Commission.

Brown had two appointees that were to take those posts when he got back. Daly made his move without comment or input from the other Supervisors or the public. It was very closed door.

One appointment has so far been ruled legal because Daly was major for a day. The other was ruled not legal because there was no vacancy. It was ruled that one of the positions had already been filled by Brown!

Years ago, when Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown (Dem) was governor of California, Lt. Governor Mike Curb (Rep) would make appointments to the judiciary and commissions when Brown was out of state!

I think because of modern communications: internet, fax, etc. there will be no more transfers of power when the chief executive is out of jurisdiction!

I don't know why the gay folk got upset. Although I don't like Jeb, he didn't say anything about gays specifically. There are lots of straight people in SF. My college roommate was one, divorced, good looking and wealthy. Did I also say popular?

It’s their chump complex, MTAtech.
Almost all fringe special interests groups (especially those only the left cater to) seem to have one. Give the fringe special interests groups an ambiguous statement and they naturally (by virtue of their 'C' complex) think all statements from those who oppose their ideologies are directed towards them.

Or maybe it's just an excuse to have a temper tantrum and draw attention to themselves.
