Paying for Music...

i just read that you can get 500 MB music for just $5. that means ca. 100 songs, that's $0.05 for a song. so what does this company do with this 5 cents for a song? do they have to pay the music companies with 5 cents? isn't that unlogical?

I get a better deal than that. I get it for free.

BTW, I had the $1/song idea a long time ago and posted it here on TechIMO. I should have patented it.

Is it mp3 format?

Because if its .wav then its not 100 songs but like 10.

I used to get some free also from Kazaa but I found most stuff is poor quality. I'd gladly pay $1 per song if I don't have to buy the entire album.

It is whatever quality and format you choose from 128 to 320kbps in any format (mp3, wma, ogg, acc).

I have no clue what their deal is with the group in Russia. I doubt any of us could specualte about what part of the money goes where. I am sure at least some of it goes to the recording group in Russia, but probably not all as the site is not ad supported (no ads to be seen).

How is that illogical?

There are a lot of songs that don't hold a lot of value on the resale market. They are usually the ones you skip on a CD or from artists you've never heard of!

because 0.05 is like nothing, and how do they pay for those songs? 0.05 is IMO not enough to pay for a song! (for the music industry) for me it's good, but i live in switzerland and you still get it legally for free, so i dont have a problem with that, but as an example for the RIAA hunted US!
