Remember the antiquities the peaceniks were whining about?
It was a travesty. A tragedy. The worst thing that happened in recorded history. Funny that we haven’t heard a peep about this lately if it were so bad. UPDATE |

There used to be rule in journalism that whatever you reported you had to do a follow up on. In other words, "the end of the story".
Now we have "drive by journalism". Report, accuse, then drive away!

it is good that they found some of it . but like the link said alot is still missing . and i would call that report a follow up . but i guess anything that is reported bad about the admin in power now is just downright wrong to do . tobad those rules aren't only in play .

While it was initially feared that thousands of ancient pieces of art were stolen during a days-long orgy of looting shortly after Saddam's regime was overthrown in April, experts believe the actual number was much lower. Of the 42 pieces originally reported missing from the Baghdad museum's public galleries, most have now been recovered and only a very few were damaged. Several of the most important works, including the fabled treasures of Nimrud, were removed from the museum and placed in the vault of the central bank ahead of the war.
Before they were discovered there, however, U.S. forces came under severe criticism for not doing enough to protect Babylon's ancient glories and other riches as they focused instead on guarding oil plants and other installations.
"The fact is, the looting of the museum was not nearly as bad as was feared immediately after the war," Charles Heatly, a spokesman for the U.S.-led Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq, told a news conference Thursday.
"The number of artifacts left to be recovered are now few."

Relative maybe.
There were thousands thought to have been stolen. If there are a dozen still missing that would be few.
If there were only a dozen thought to have been stolen and a dozen were still missing that would be a lot.
Sounds like there are between 2 and 20 still missing. I wonder why they didn't give an exact number.

I'm sorry, but the media are not allowed to report good news about Iraq. Like what Shahani said, that would be biased.

This story must have slipped through the cracks at CNN then.
