What I dont understand is why we dont use MLB players like the basketball team uses the NBA players. No one would stand a chance against Bonds, Helton and the rest of em.

well wouldnt the olympics get in the way of the season?

and they also play 162 game schedule compared to 82 game schedule.. so the more games they play is more taxing on the body.

i have no clue, just giving some reasons why.

I believe Olympics are supposed to be a competition by and for amateurs not for professionnal "workers" who get paid a high sum for doing it all year long.

My view is that NHL players don't have their place in the winter Olympics either.

The only thing I like about NHL players playing in the olympics, is that they are playing for their native countries. (IF they want to).
