Just had to share!

Earlier today, CE and I signed the first round of paper work on our first house! Yes, hopefully by the end of this year, we will be moving into our own home. I have attached a picture of the house. One of the selling points for us was, the yard. A double lot, with plenty of room for a dog to run and play in, three bedrooms, nice size kitchen, and a big plus, a dry basement! (For those who live, or have lived in the past, in Michigan, you know what I mean! LOL)

I am so excited!!!

very nice!
Funny thing is your mortage on the house will probably be less than what most people in DC or CA pay for rent on a house half the size

From what we have been figuring, the morgage payments should be between $550 and $600, maybe a bit more. That is the good part, the bad part will be the taxes. Not only will we have to pay the city taxes on the house, but also another city tax on income as well. Pontiac is one of those cities where if you live, or work in the city limits, you have to pay an income tax along with the federal and state taxes.

Owning your own home is great. You can do what you want with it,and not worry about the land lord pitching a fit.And you just know that it's yours. It a different feeling than renting.

Congrats on the new Home.Very nice!

congratz guys, did the same with my fiancee last week.
I've got cut hands, bruised toes, and all other kinds of minor injuries doing stuff I used to leave to the landlord.
Yesterday I spent most of the evening installing a wideband aerial in the attic. I'm saving the coax wiring through the cavity for the weekend. Hmmm must fix the dodgy radiator in the lounge too....

Ahhhh the joys of home ownership

That's Grrrrreeeeeaaaaatttt!!!! Best of luck in your new home. I remember when we first moved in ours. It's nice to have a place of your own to come home to.
