Breast cancer breakthrough

Researchers have managed to reverse breast cancer in lab mice. Now they are working on adapting the drugs to humans.

I heard this on the radio this morning, and have a link to the story now, thanks to Cowboybooter.

"EASY TO KEEP and quick to breed, mice have played a key role in medical research for nearly a century. “It’s the smallest mammal that is physiologically and genetically similar to us,” explains Baylor College of Medicine researcher Huda Zoghbi. In fact, humans and mice share close to 99 percent of the genes thought to be relevant to health. "

Mice are extemely important to this type of research because they are so close genetically to us. Hopefully they will find treatments for all the diseases man has.
