...are rampant at Boston University. Recently their Board of Trustees offered the presidency of the university to former NASA chief Daniel Goldin. Then they changed their minds and had to "buy out" Goldin's contract for $1.8 million. Goldin never worked a single day for that money. Un-be-lievable.

If I was a BU alum, I wouldn't donate another penny until the entire Board of Trustees resigned.

That's the job I want. $1.8 million, I think that if I was careful about my spending I could learn to live on that amount.

Meanwhile, the president of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities predicted that the handling of Goldin's bid for the BU presidency may dissuade other candidates from applying for the post.
