Yeah, saw this on the news. For some reason i never was/am a sensitive guy. I know it's sad for the family's but it doesn't effect me, maybe because is see so many on the news or don't experience it firsthand, call me a jackass or whatever you want, but it doesn't effect me one bit.

This is bad news for the majority of Iraqis that want their country stable so it can be handed back over to them.

Every time another soldier dies , I re-live all the funerals I went to during the Viet Nam conflict ( sarcasm intended ) Friends coming home in shell shock, crippled and only half the man they were before they left. All for the cowardly, money grabbing politicians with high ideals and no guts. If there is a life after death, that seems to be the only place where they'll get what they deserve.

Every day, it becomes clearer and clearer that rushing to invade was a grave mistake. Back in February and March I was warning of this. I would have been happier if I was wrong.

The problem is we are still fighting a "politically correct" fight....What we should have done and still could do is go in and wipe the place off the map...any one or anything gets in our way ..waste it...Then if we want to walk away afterwards so be it but take no bs...Do the job down and dirty...thats how they did it to us...

Post Deleted. Sorry, but I'm closing this thread. Name calling and over generalized accusations is not intelligent conversation. It is flame bate and not appropriate here.
I hear your pain and anger in your post. But lashing out against other members here who are perhaps perceived by you to be more liberal in their thought doesn't solve or help in any way.
You saw my warning regarding your thread. I closed it. You copied the post that I told you was inappropriate and then posted it in this thread 5 minutes later.

well I have to agree on the politically correct"part..in general anyway.
I laff at how we let cameramen and "the news" just totally shape everything we do...I mean..compare now to WW2 days, lol...we carpet bombed, we nuked, we won..next question? And the ww2 vets were/are called "the greatest generation"..and rightly so. But if they had some gay cameraman snooping around all day everyday I wonder how "politically correct" all of their actions would have seemed.
War is HELL..we try to make it like a sunday picnic now. How stupid. In trying to "pretty it up" we make it MORE likely to keep happening, lol. War should be so ugly and vile and shocking that countrys would go to any length to avoid it, lol.
Any rank and file Iraqi citizen could have popped a cap in saddam...other countries have had coups and uprisings etc....it is doable.
A more subtle point though, and more important to me...is that the basic 'thread" of our society has changed....back in the ww2 era..the cameras and media would have, for the most part, TRIED to show the army in the best possible light..to support the country etc.
Now they TRY to find any and every little problem..every whiney iraqi with some sob story...ANYTHING to get us a nice juicy headline for today...cuz we are a country that feeds on that crap. Sad.
So now the basic thread has changed from sticking together to "every man for himself"....everyone pushing fiercely for their own agenda etc.
And EVERYONE knows..history proves beyond doubt...that a house divided CAN NOT stand.
America isnt so big that she cant fall. Are we bigger than Rome? Or the great Persian empires? they fell and we are just a spec on the timeline compared to them...we're still the new kid on the block, lol.
