When the job market and economy is down, one thing a person looking for a job should never do.. and that is put all of his / her training / diplomas etc on a job application, unless the job title being applied for demands it.
You get off to a bad start when you "tell" everybody how well you are trained etc.
If a person doesn't measure up to the position he / she was hired for.. the administration can always let you go with the excuse that you are over qualified. This is a cop-out, but an effort to let a person go without offending them. Always be honest with yourself when leaving a job or position...did you actually measure up to the requirements for the job?...if no, then resolve to make the necessary changes in your work habits, or prepare to change jobs every so often. With so many willing workers walking the streets in todays economy, finding a good...hard working, competent workers is not difficult to find for most employers.
If you have a good education and perhaps other training, but must apply for a lesser position..keep as much concerning your abilities hidden.. at least upfront. They will notice that you have what they need and advance you..once you are assured of that 'good' job, you can revise your resumé in the personnel department.
