How to do a business proposal???

Well, at about 5pm I was informed I woul dbe helping someone write a business proposal. Since I am the "computer person" they somehow figure I am qualified to do proposals???

Its family so I am not really in much of a position to refuse.

The "zinger" is....its due tomorrow at 3pm, lol. So dude totally hit me at the last minute.

They run a big cafeteria style restaraunt but also do catering. So the proposal is to win the catering business for a new hi tech facility opening nearby.

So he has the RFP (request for proposal) sitting there...

uhh, I am absolutely clueless??

Anyone ever done a proposal??

Seems the gist of it is a long list of 26 points (or about that many) where they are asking about this or that.

They are confusing a computer guy with an office specialist.

Any ideas? I have no clue. The dude is writing out all the answers to the question setc..and I guess they are expecting me to put it together into some sort of cohesive package in about 2 hrs tomorrow. lol.

Are there any websites that show examples?

Or are there any templates in Word or Office? I also have that "Personal Portfolio" thingy for office..where it has all the extra forms etc.

Helppppppppppppp, JP

umm... i should know this! arg.

but are you asking like a business plan? or like an executive summary? (i.e. they read the summary, then say lets see the plan...) as has been in my business plan experience.

and executive summary is realitively easy... 2 hours could get you a good or decent one.

o.0 i just read your post again... and realized you need an actually proposal, you already have the business running....

key points, basically what you have to offer, what the competetion has to offer, and why (if not obvious) your product or service is better)

aaaaaand.... seperate it into categories. thats all i can help you on.... i primarly write the business plans, rather than proposals.

That's the worst part...wrong place at the right time

It's funny that way John, people make some strange leaps in their assumptions.
