Systems Fed up with my job

Hey everyone,
What do you do when your job sucks, and I mean REALLY sucks, to the point where you don't even care how much you are getting paid compared to everyone else? I'm stuck in a telemarketing job for the cable company that I can't get out of. I have applied to something like 8 other positions in the past 2 months, including 1 within the company. I have called to follow up on them, but havn't gotten anywhere.

I am having a really hard time fighting the urge to walk into my bosses office and hand in my resignation... im afraid Im gonna do it and be up a creek.

I don't know what to do! Does anyone have advice for a struggling college kid in his last 2 semesters who wants to feel semi-worthwhile about his employment?

Thanks

First look at your hobbies and see if they can turn into income.
Then look at other things you might be able to do.

The key is to not leave one thing until you have something else that will sustain you. If you leave this job without another one, you will be more miserable.

What are you studying? Maybe you can turn that into a paying internship. What about jobs at the university itself? Surely they have student aid based employment.

8 applications in 2 months is a start, but if you look at it- that is only one a week. Are there more opportunities than that in your town? You're not that far from Boston, so there should be plenty of job opportunities.

I wish you well.

Spam the job market for anything. How much are you getting paid now? is it a great killer wage? Either way, spamming is a good way to get something. Also, you may want to look into a place like jobs america. they can set you up wiht temporary work, and if the bosses like what they see in that temporary time, there is a chance they will hire you.
