For people who have their guitars setup professonally how often do you have it done?

well...."professionally" might be stretching it....unless the local gtr shop is considered professional.

I just have them lower my action until it almost buzzes....then thats it.

Of course I wouldnt be the token dude for meticulous attention to detail...im more the "set it and forget it" dude....like Muddy waters I also had strings on for over 5 years, lol....they hadnt broke yet so....

Low action stuff

I've had my guitar setup twice by people that said they knew what they were doing. The first time it came back beautifully. I think I waited almost five years before I had it done again and the guy made it worse.

What kind of guitar have you got? Chances are that you can do it yourself. It really isn't difficult at all.

That's what I do.Not a problem yet.I haven't even touched the action on my Aria for 10 years, and it still plays great.
I never had one professionally done so no comment there

All you really need to do it yourself is the right alan wrench/screwdriver, whatever, and a tuner, not hard at all.Lower the strings to the lowest possible without buzzing at any fret. Then just make sure the sting is in tune open, and at the 12th fret.Exactly in tune.Moving the bridge fulcrum closer or farther away will change the tuning so you can get it perfect

Acoustics are a little more difficult.I had the sand the bridge to lower the action on my Epiphone. It was still worth it

I'm a DIY type person

I've got a few. In the future I may buy one online that I would want setup at first. I have a Godin Multiac that I would rather have someone setup I put the nylon strings on what a mess I also have a Parker Fly that I had setup couple years ago that I may just tweak myself. Ive been playing for years but fooling with my guitars make me a little nervous

Nice music

No experience with a nylon. I wouldn't touch it, personally. Acoustics are not my forte.

I'm not familiar with the bridge on a Parker. I thought they were Floyd-Rose, but from the pictures on the Parker site, they appear to be something else. Dialing in a tremelo bridge guitar is NOT easy or fun. It takes my roommate almost an hour to get his Ibanez dialed in properly, even after figuring out how to do it correctly.
