Summer Internship at NASA

This is for college students with at least 50 semester hours of credit who are pursuing a science degree. I was an intern there in 1996. It was awesome. You work right at Johnson Space Center with incredible access to satellite imagery, astronaut debriefings, and the chance to work with some of the top minds in the world. One of the interns I was there with was on the team that discovered possible traces of life on Mars. And another intern got invited to stay on for a few months to do some research in Hawaii.

They pay you $500/week while you're there and set you up in some really nice apartments. I had a blast. I highly encourage any student in the sciences who meets the criteria to apply. The year I applied, there were 12 interns and only 120 people applied, so you stand a pretty good chance of getting in if your grades are at all decent.

Deadline is January 14, 2004.

Go for it.

EDIT: While you're poking around the site, check out the Earth From Space site. It has a clickable map to search for images of your area.

You are absolutely 100% correct. Any qualified individual who has at least one ounce of integrity and/or desire to be a 'mover and shaker' in the scientific world would benefit more than can be expressed by jumping on a deal like that.

Besides that...the Cape is one awsome place to be. Few places in the U.S. will have the perks than can be had around Cocoa, Titusville, Patrick..Satellite Beach or even Melbourne.

Opppsssss!!

I am so used to stopping by the Cape when that area, I completely forget (at times) about the Johnson Space Center in Houston.

I just had an engineering friend pass away who worked at the Cape for years. He was a member of TechIMO.

Ahhh well.. I need new glasses anyway...
