Six to eight rockets struck the Al-Rasheed Hotel early Sunday, where U.S. military and civilian employees stay, the U.S. military said.
A spokesman for the military command said there were an "unknown number of casualties" and a quick reaction force had been dispatched to the scene.
The hotel is located in an area tightly controlled by the U.S. military on the western side of the Tigris River near the headquarters of the U.S.-led coalition.

Why was the important part of the attack that they attacked this Wolfowitz guy? And why do they think he is more important than the others in the hotel?

He's the deputy sec. of defense, really right on a lot of issues, not really surprising that they'd take a shot at him.

Unfortunately, rockets travel further than that. Also, the hotel is about 10 stories high (a guess).

So any more good news coming out of Iraq, Crouse, Daveleau, Radar?
While its good to be positive, being positive unrealistically is self-defeating.
Iraq will remain in chaos until the last US forces leave. These are a proud people and do not want occupation. I wonder how many more soldiers will be needlessly killed before Bush comes to what little sense he has.

Shahani,
Tons of good still coming out of Iraq. Just another smale scale attack. There will be more, but we will take care of them. But I guess you are looking at every chance to focus on the low intensity conflict and ignore the big picture.

No, I do not characterize this as a low intensity conflict. This is a reflection of the larger overall picture of the situation in Iraq.
A view from 50,000 feet up, as it were.
Individually, yes its a small incident. But collectively, its another story. When you see these incidents against the fact that War has been over almost 5 months, they take on a hue of quite a different color.
These "low-intensity" events will eventually snowball into a chaotic and dangerous Iraq.
And the reason is fairly simple to see. These resistance movements are a natural reaction to an unfair and unnecessary occupation of a soverign nation. The US is being increasing seen as a hostile force focused on oil and rebuilding contracts for those close to Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld.
In fact, Cheney has been so blatant in this regard that 60 Minutes did an expose on him a few months ago and repeated it a few weeks later.
You see when the intentions are not good, people eventually see through you and react accordingly.
