IMO, it would be a much better idea to use power saving time, PST, by having a ten hour working day in Summer and a six hour working day in Winter.
As the days get shorter the working day should get shorter too.
They did leave the hour alone one year in Britain, (1967?) and I remember it as the best year ever, as you could still come home in the daylight.
More family time at home in the Winter months would be a big help with children who have homework to do.
This is more in keeping with living naturally according to sunrise and sunset, which is what we all ... used ... to do.
I seem to remember that it was the British railway system which first put the country on the same time. Before that each station displayed the time according to the noon time when the Sun was at its highest.
