Senate pay raise; Enough already!

Check out the article here:

http://apnews.excite.com/article/200...D7UC10QG0.html

Then you tell me: Is someone that gets over $150 grand going to adequetely represent those of us that earn (much) less?

Since when does the job of sitting on your butt and getting bribed require high pay?

*^#^%*&^$*%*#^*&$^*&)$)*$!!!!!

Yes this issue is one of my hot buttons, thank you for noticing.

On a serious note there is a simple and easy solution to this "vote yourself rich" power of congress. Simple set the pay for the job equal to the average income of those represented. Use the census data that is used for so much else. Now the lazy wastes of oxygen can get on with the business of goverment, and leave the rest of us alone.

A more complex version of this idea would limit the household income of the congresspersons household to the average of those represented. With the option to refuse pay, and thus keep thier multi million dollar investments intact...

I HATE THE FAT CAT RULERS (and other such angry noises...)

I saw that article yesterday and was going to start a similar thread. But the entire government staff got a 2 or 3% cost of living allowance, and this is what it works out to for the bigwigs. Still disgusting considering the average Joe got no such raise. And I agree wholeheartedly that the ENTIRE bunch, House, Senate, and on up, are all major oxygen thieves.

I don't know anyone in Bush's cabinet that owns less than seven-figure asset.

So I guess I know your feelings towards them.

And I agree 100%.

Hopefully they'll be out next year.

Actually, it was over 4% (which is approximately 4% more than I will get next year).
