Hey sam when you get done drive on over to Mo, and I'll let you change the faucets on the kitchen sink.
It's still on my honey do list from 2 weeks ago, I hate old repairs on old houses

CrystalDragon, I live in Monett. Good to hear from someone that close to me. As far as this house, well, I wonder if it's a lost cause. I will keep you in mind. This place needs a lot of help right now, but in time it will be nice.
Do you know of a good reliable place in Springfield to buy used computer parts? I build a lot of older systems for people, and need parts that are not availible on the net. The place I was going through went belly up, now I'm outin the cold.
Good to hear from you

Replace the supply lines? You mean the two metal lines that go from the wall cut offs to the bottom of the fixture?
| You can get inexpensive braided lines to replace them at most any plumbing/hardware store, probably not a bad idea...

Well, all done and finished up. I had to buy some putty for the drain and the pop up. I also replaced the metal lines with those braided ones and it all looks pretty good except there's a slight lightness all around where the old faucet was. The countertop seems to have darkened itself over the years???
Well, it worked the very first time, no leaks, no mess. Thanks for the advice all, my dad was impressed I got answers to my questions so quickly from people not being paid .
Sam

The plumbing profession uses muriatic acid to remove most buildup in both water closets and lavatories, it usually works for me. FYI if you have a cultured marble top, acetone (nail polish remover) will destroy the gel coat. I have never understood why some builders put it in the lavatory area of a bath. My wife would surely destroy it!
