Forecast for today; Static!!
A moderately powerful solar event may cause havoc with cell phones, pagers, etc. today and tonight. But Northern lights might be visible as far south as Oregon and Illinois. Quote: |
Space weather forecasters say the coronal mass ejection, or CME, was detected Wednesday morning at 3 a.m. EDT. It is expected to reach Earth about 3 p.m. EDT Friday, and its effects could last 12 to 18 hours.
| The government strongly advises everyone to avoid space walks.

Here's frames from it:
That last one was just a few hours ago.

northern lights are awesome, I saw them only once and the site was unbelievable, wish I could have taken pictures, middle of the winter night, icy cold, with shimmering shooting lights across the sky. I shall never forget that night.
Kinda like my avatar but white lights, hey.

No spacewalks today. And I wanted to try out my new Buck Rogers Tennies.
