Happy, happy, joy, joy, joy

Your Official Government Iraq Good News Site. Don't waste your time with newspapers or television; get it straight from the propagandists themselves.

(And what part of .gov is responsible for this?)

It's getting slashdotted. There must be a lot of people eager to hear the positive news.

Maybe it would be a good idea for people from the USA to settle in the area permanently. (Right across Israel, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan.)

Then the entire area could be irrigated and developed with help from the surrounding states as part of an overall project of re-greening of the planet, reversing global warming and desertification.

It simply consists of flooding the Caspian, Aral and Dead seas and progressing from there.

This is still my original idea for this area.

The Caspian and Aral seas are some 28 metres below mean sea level and the Dead sea is some 420 metres below mean sea level.

There are lots of other land depressions elsewhere on this planet which, if flooded, would contribute to overall cooling, and increase the ability to grow crops, trees, etc.

Not so. Propaganda is propaganda. It stinks no matter who is spewing it.

Well, it wouldn't be news, either.

Press releases ≠ news.

An objective person would trust that site as much as he/she trusted any news source unless they had factual first-hand information to the contrary. The amount of trust given here to the freedom.gov site depends on how much any site (CNN, BBC, Fox, ABC, NBC etc) is trusted. Why would you blindly trust one and not the other? Not one of you has any special information that the other does not have. Not one of you can give any factual refutation of any of these site's articles. Everything you hear is spoon-fed to you. How can you say one is true and the other is not with such voracity? Why choose the route that satisfies your disdain for your government? Because it is the easy route? Worse yet, why spread gossip that you do not know whether it is true or not to others? In essence, talk like this is nothing but gossip since it is not coupled with facts. Then again, I've come to expect negativity and subjectivity based on whimsical, fact-free (not fat-free, FACT-free) "thought" here from certain authors.

People talk about those who back the government are acting as sheep. All I have to say is look a where the facts are and where the gossip is and you will find the sheep where you find the gossip. Because some are led by facts while others are led by what others say. One good idea that will give you guidance into figuring out who the sheep are is to see if you believe the President is crooked. If you think he is, try to give factual information as a testament to his total corruption. If you can not give facts, then you must assume it is gossip and those following are sheep. My take on this is that there is only one piece of possible evidence against our President and that would be the Halliburton contracts- and that is not a proven fact as of yet.
