So how do you think Gov. Schwartzenegger's gonna do?

Well, it's a fact, he's Governor Schwartzenegger now.

Whattya think? The first thing that comes to mind is that he'll slash a lot of public programs, but will not terminate the enormous California service payroll (up something like 30% because of Davis, I heard).

I only ask because I haven't heard all that much about his plans, anybody else? I think it's all speculation right now.

Our Governor announced shortly after taking office that he would "cut the fat" out of state employment expenses. All he actually did was cut a few hundred jobs while simultaneously hiring a number of very expensive "consultants" (aka, political buddies). The end result was the state ended up spending much more than they were before.

i didn't vote for him but he won . so i will give him the benifit of the doubt . but in the paper i read something i did not like . he has brought in some woman that worked for jeb bush in FL . she got them to cut alot of social programs in FL . that part i do not like . but it isn't fair to really comment on what FL did . have to wait and see what happens here first .

i am not really sure if he has done anything yet . to be honost i don't think he has the power to cut anything till the final vote is in and i don't think it is in yet .

Yep...sounds like your usual political hack, and the standard result of the guy acquiring the office...

I think what we're wondering is, might the total and complete lack of political experience on Schwartzenegger's part count as a PLUS, maybe?

It's not as though he has a whole mess of political cronies...Hollywood cronies, perhaps.

Although his ties to the Kennedy family might suggest a "Massachusetts West" flavor to his regime...uh... Term of Office, I mean.
