UN Assembly Orders Israel to Halt West Bank Wall

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - The U.N. General Assembly overwhelmingly approved late on Tuesday a resolution demanding that Israel halt construction of a barrier cutting deep into Palestinian West Bank lands.

The vote was 144-4 with 12 abstentions, with the United States and Israel voting 'no' along with the Marshall Islands and Micronesia.

'bout time someone tells them to stop their terrorism is right. 'bout time Israel took steps to try to stop Palestinian terrorism, and building this wall is one step in that direction. But I have to assume you somehow mean Israeli terrorism since you are so anti-Semitic.

You should add 'terrorism' to the list of definitions you need to look up, in addition to 'lie' and 'murder'. Israel is building the wall to try to curb terrorism. HTH is building a wall terrorism?

On the positive side perhaps try (Safety, cautious, preventative, limiting, or self serving.)

That resolution is non-binding. It's hardly more than a pesky gnat to the Israelis.

The UN's only power is the US up to date.

According to what I have been reading the wall has destroyed Palestinian: water wells, farms, it has cut off farmers from their farms, it has taken more land away from the occupied territories (obviously for future claims to more land i.e. a smaller Palestinian state) and it has destroyed houses and some small villages that stood in it's path.

So before you mock those who are against the wall by saying inconsiderate things such as:

And thereby revealing that you don’t really know what the fuss is about, how about some of that good old independent research of trying to read the other sides opinion?

This wall is a waste of money, nothing will change as far as security is concerned after it is completed. It is yet another way to squash the Palestinians. Since it is causing more grief, pain, sorrow and hopelessness on the Palestinian side in my opinion it is quite logical to assume that it will cause more people to become hopeless and join the ranks of the armed resistance. Yes this wall is another form of Israeli state terror. Many of you don't realise it because you are not on the receiving end of the effects of this wall. You are sitting in your comfortable walls, in your sovereign nations viewing it all from afar.

So dear Epidemic, no one is scared of the wall per se, the fuss that you don’t seem to be able to relate to, nor understand, is that this wall is a new tool to cause more collective punishment, land theft, destruction and grief which the Palestinians have been enduring with amazing resolve and strength for the past 55 years.

When people tell me that Israel has the right to protect herself, my answer is that so do all other races, nations and peoples.
