Who saw the movie, "Hackers"?

It starred Angelina Jolie in her 1st role.

A couple of things I found interesting about the movie:
1. Most commonly used passwords are: love, secret, sex, & god [Not from anybody I know]
2. Go to a payphone with a micro-cassette recorder, put in $5 in quarters, and record the tone that it gives. Free phone calls for the rest of your life! [does that really work?]

number 2 used to work, its a form of phreaking

but they are using digital lines now, my aunt used to tell me how she would sit and listen to people dropping in money to make sure they were trying to get free phone calls. She was able to tell what was the real thing and what was recorded


and i remember when they got excited about the 486. as for the passwords, you have to remember when this movie was made. in the early 90's when computers were still a new concept in the everyday household. so passwords were complicated like they are now

funny movie tho, i enjoy it. awsome soundtrack also

Even funnier than that, they got excited about 28.8k modems.

The AJ character said her laptop was a P6. Don't know what that was.

It had a RISC processor.

It wasn't Angelina's first role.

well it's fun, but the hacking parts are a bit wrong

I liked it Good Sound Track... was just listening to it :P Hackers 2 was interesting. Was called Operation Takedown and was about Mitnick. Was also fun to watch.
