God's General Unmuzzled

Here's an interesting take on General Boykins remarks that I happen to agree with.

God's General Unmuzzled By ELAINE CASSEL

Thoughts?

I say keep Boykin, and keep him talking. Why? Because his comments are the unvarnished versions of the beliefs held by George Bush, Paul Wolfowitz, John Ashcroft, Tom DeLay, Bill Frist, and others in the administration who hold extremist religiopolitical views.

You agree with this?

Didn't you know, Shahani is against free speech. As long as it's the Republicans doing the speaking.

Well, for one thing it is encouraging extremist views. For whatever reasons, whether to make Bush look ridiculuous or to make people believe this kind of stuff.

Religious zealots like this guy only incite hatred. Moderation is the operative word.

But if you take the view that by letting this guy talk it makes the others including Bush and Ashcroft look bad, then I agree.

BTW, I am not against Free Speech. This guy has every right to say what he wants. I am pointing out that I for one don't agree with what he says.

Extremists aren't typically a good thing, but as I've said before, we keep them around because they make things interesting. Everything in moderation would be a very boring world, IMO.
