To keep from repaying a few Thousand bucks

This young man is crazy!

All to keep from repaying about $2,000.00 to his friends(he's the second to do it there). I figure someone is up for a darwin award.

Are they sure it was him who slashed off the good bits? If someone owed me $2,000 and wasted it on alcohol and prostitutes...

Where does it say anything about $2000? All I see is $287.

Personally, I don't care if it was a $100k debt, I would never do it.

Sorry Warthog, it was an extrapolation on my part, : he owed "millions of shillings" since 300,000 shillings = $287.00 I rounded 1 million shillings to $1000.00(probably a lot closer to $950.00, but anyway...)
so
millions reasonably guessed as 2 means the guy "owed" about 2 million shillings, or about $2000.00 . For all I know it might have been 3 million shillings, or more.

Sorry for not explaining that.

Vern

BTW-neither would I.

Clubmed, the money was owed to several people not just one, and supposedly they were all "friends or relatives"

Maybe those "relatives" were inlaws.
