and your two cents are??
here's a topic to be tossed around. I was talking with a some people the other day and we got into a gender discussion, I won't bore you with the whole thing... a part that came up though was stayt at home dads. It was said by one that society accepted stay at home dads, it was said by another that they did not and the common view was that they must be gay. It was said by another that it wasn't accepted, but his reasoning was society still lives in the man work/woman clean era... hearing so many opinions i thought, hmm this would make a good discussion... so what's your two cents?

i can cook, not that good, but it's fun, i dont care what other people say, it's a normal thing that man does women work and woman mens work, there shouldnt be a seperation between the two genders!
also in computer things, women can be very good, even better than men! look at surreal =)

What does staying home and your sexual preference have to do with each other? | |

Does working third shift while going to school nights and watching my son during the day so that my wife can work during the day, so that WE can raise our child qualify as 'stay at home dad' make me gay?
iow, I think it is fine and does not make one "gay"

i want to clarify here, the guy who said that doesn't think it himself, he's a very intelligent professor, his point was this i think, that society in general, not necessarily you, has a tendency to question the sexuality (or more so to question the manliness) of a stay at home dad.... sorry if i didn't detail that enough the first time, my bad there... hope that helped some
as for me... i personally think he is wrong to point about the gay part, but questioning the manliness, i believe society does, i don't think a large percentage of the population has embraced equality among the genders, and even as more and more of it has become alright for women to change their stereotyped roles, becoming soldiers, career women, et cetera... I believe it is more difficult for a man to embrace aspects of what were once denied him....

Since the British currency is more expensive than the American equivalent, I feel it necessary to add my 1.19527 Pence.
Cooking, cleaning, ironing, whatever, is fine. In the army, you have to do that all yourself (well, apart from the cooking, unless your on a reccie, even then, you shouldn't). And do i see them messing with the army guys? I don't think so .

Well my Canadian 3.56 cents is there are no issues with men staying at home to keep the house while the wife works. When I was married I would have had no issue staying home while my wife worked, especially since she was making about $5000/year more then me which makes a big difference on things.
