Exotic Cat Sanctuary

http://www.yogieandfriends.org/

We visited this today. I wish I had money to donate to help. They have 18 cats (6 lions, 8 tigers, 2 cougars, a bobcat and a black panther) and get 0 help from government or environmental agencies. I think the fact that the man that runs it has a bad stutter may have effected his ability to get money. Very intelligent and a very nice place. He takes immaculate care of these abused animals. It costs $1000 per month to feed and care for them. He charges people $5 for visits and he gets some local charity donations, and that is all.

Be sure to check out the photo gallery.

WOW...that is AWESOME, Dave!

We have a similar refuge out here, run by (the movie actress) Tippi Hedren, and I contribute to that. There are lions, and a coupla' tigers, as well!

They are amazing creatures, and how fortunate we are to be able to commune with them!

That was Kim Novak. Tippi was the main character in the Birds.

Hmmm.... Let's look at this from the PETA standpoint. Why don't they do the correct and noble thing and release these wild animals back into the wild?

I hate PETA. The hypocritical idiots!. My favorite definition of PETA: People Eating Tasty Animals!.

These animals have been too domesticated by zoos and other previous owners for these to be able to survive in the wild. They have to have a caretaker. The above did cross my mind, though.
