NTDLR is missing. press any key to restart

i cannot believe how much i hate my bank. not only is the (drive up) ATM down on a sucky consistent basis but to make it hillarious i go to take out money this morning from this drive up atm and thats exactly what it says on the screen. " NTDLR is missing, press any key to restart." jesus, could we run ATM'S on linux instead? is that possible!?

thats definitely the funniest thing ive seen on an atm screen to date. and no, before you ask there wasnt a CTRL ATL DEL on the keypad!! i WAS pissed but i also couldnt help but laugh as i drove away.

Many ATM machines are just NT boxes in a fancy enclosure. I had the pleasure of seeing a street full of them crash and reboot after a power problem, atleast half of them hung on boot and looked rather broken. My local shop even has a mini ATM with a modem which you can hear dial as you request money, its kind of hardcore.

Regards

ed

its Citibank which used to be EAB. actually, when i get off my lazy ass im closing the account. im sick of broken atm's and getting overcharged for monthly fees to even have a checking account. i do all my checks onling though which is a plus but ill find that with another.

the thing i hate most about banks is how you have to pay 1.50-2.00 service charge if you use your atm card with another bank. its a complete rip off but we're all kinda screwed with that.

I saw the same thing once at Home Depot. It was on one of their machines that you use to pick what color paint you want.

Quite amusing.

If anybody in your family is in the military services try to open an account through them with usaa. I think they only accept Military people and imidiate families... but they cover those ATM charges that other banks put on you and they dont charge for accounts. Good rates and all that other stuff... I love USAA
