I guess i do believe in god
Two days ago sam almost commited suicide. I imed her like 150 times in an half hour, then she got off, and i called her and she was in tears. that broke my heart, and i prayed to god that she wouldnt kill herself.
we talked later, and she told me she didnt know why she didnt do it, she just couldnt, but she was going to.
w.e the reason..... she didnt
so this comes down to me praying to god. even though i didnt believe. i guess i believe in a higher power.....

God does answer prayer. Sounds to me like He heard yours.

If you care about her you'll get her some help. Even if it means doing something she wouldn't like, like discussing this with her parents. Or, if she goes to church, you might want to talk to her pastor. Or a school counselor.

As much as I hate to ( ), I agree with J. You can't let that kind of behaviour continue. She needs serious help, not just a shoulder to cry on.
Take my advice for once. A friend of mine committed suicide last weekend. Sometimes I know what I'm talking about.

I was under the impression that her parents didn't care very much. I'd have to dig through some older threads, but that's what I recommended.
School counselors aren't the best with talks about suicide. They can persuade students to not drop out of school, blow something up, etc.

Obviously, if she was serious about it, they aren't doing a very good job. You also have to remember that you aren't responsible for her condition and you can only do so much to help. I'm not trying to bring you down, but some objectiveness is necessary in situations like this.
Advice on what to do is sort of difficult, never having had to deal with this sort of situation. There are two types of parents here. One type, when you tell them about what she did, will do whatever they can to get her help and treatment and they will keep a close eye on her and further the cause if needed. The other type will be angry, scold her, and not take it seriously. Denial is a typical reaction when someone tells you that your child is suicidal. Those are the parents you need to be afraid of.
What I would do now is to get the name of her doctor and talk to him and tell him that whatever they're doing just isn't helping Sam. It may or may not upset Sam if she finds out, but help is more important.
I don't admire your situation, Blazer. But I can't stress enough to remember that this isn't your fault and you can't let yourself fall into that mindset. It will only make things worse for the both of you.

Blazer06, I agree with you that God answers prayer, but also that he uses people to accomplish his will. Sounds like he's using you. There's nothing that helps suicidal people more than knowing someone cares.

There is quite definitely "a God" and he is called Ptah. This is Coptic for Pater, the latin word for Father.
It has ALWAYS been so.

This will lead to some hard decisions in to what you do, the key help that I can provide would be my old motto:
The hardest things in life, are the easiest when you stop and think about them!
