Lieberman Pledges to Gloss Over the Boring Issues

From The Onion (America's Finest News Source™ ).
Quote:
To growing applause, Lieberman quickly ran through a list of issues important to voters.

"The economy? I'll make it better," he said. "Reconstruction of Iraq? No problem. International relations? I'll patch those up in my first 100 days. Poverty? I got a plan."

"World trade? Women's rights? Education? Yes, yes, and yes," said Lieberman, who spent the next 45 minutes discussing the Red Sox.

Should he not detail the nitty-gritty as well?

I could claim to be the best man ever not to run for PM over here, but it takes more than talking big!

Yep. And that's where the story of the California recall belongs.

ROFLMAO!!...

I am a Democrat by birth and life, but if Lieberman actually runs, and should get some serious votes, we are in deep doo doo. This guy cannot say whats on his mind without deep consideration... he is certainly no speaker..has no redeeming public image, and is one of the reasons dufus Gore didn't really get up any steam in his bid for the Presidency.

As bad as Clinton was morally, he was well liked...and when a well liked president leaves office, his #2 man will almost always take his place, if they want it. For Gore to even come as close as he did was a miracle.

All Republican administrations create hard times for the working stiff...history will bear this out. There were many warnings about out economy going sour if Bush was elected...and, sure enough ...the ship hit the sand.

It is my hope that some good well versed Democrat politician will be elected, but if it comes to a choice between Lieberman and Bush (again) I will have to go for Bush.

Lieberman, in my opinion is Bush-lite. Besides he's such a boring speaker - unable to energize people. What we need is someone to energize the democrats. That's why I'm supporting this guy to my left.

if you need a face lift, clap your hands!

I'm sorry, but I'm from connecticut...and I really dislike the guy. I met him once and he came across as being really insincere...

there's a reason he lost as VP 4 yrs ago...

GO ONION! I forgot it existed, but have re-bookmarked it. thanks!

Isn't every issue a boring issue with him? Even extremely non-boring issues, once Lieberman starts talking about them they sound boring. I don't know...maybe it's just him? Ya think?
