U.S. vetoes U.N. resolution denouncing Israeli security barrier
UNITED NATIONS (CNN) -- The United States late Tuesday vetoed an Arab-backed United Nations resolution denouncing Israel's building of a security barrier on Palestinian territory in the West Bank. http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/meast/...ast/index.html
Nothing surpising. The US Administration is completely biased against the Arab world, no matter what anyone says. US policy is so tilted/biased towards Israel that one wonders how Bush can even think about roadmaps and brokering peace agreement.
You can never "broker" an agreement if you are so openly and transparently biased against one side.
Botom line is the US Policy will just lose credibility and killings/terrorism on both sides will continue.
This resolution was vetoed for the same reason the other resolution condemning Israel's talk of removing Arafat was vetoed; it failed to condemn or even address the suicide bombings. There's plenty of blame to go around and any resolution condemning the illegal actions of one side should condemn the illegal actions of the other as well.
