Kids How to kill INDOOR ants?

Hello...

Living in FL, I'm used to dealing with ants outside, that's just a fact of life for us here. When I walked into my son's bathroom tonight, there were about 20-30 ants crawling out from underneath an interior wall, but I have no idea why. There is never any food/drink in his bathroom...only the typical bathroom items. I'm not sure why they're there, but I want them out!

So, my question is, what do you guys recommend to kill ants inside the home? Bait stations? Powder in the cracks? Spray?

Thanks!

Mike

I just had a run-in with really little ants in my bathroom. Same as you, I've never had food in there. But the blasted ants were in the toothpaste and stuck down inside my toothbrush and all over the counter. I got a couple of ant traps and voila, no more ants. Just keep the traps away from your son. Maybe tuck them inside the cabinet or something.

Thanks M_Six...I was thinking about going with traps as they seem to be the safest indoor solution. Do you remember which brand you used?

I am easily amused.

We use something called Terro (recommended by the Maryland Agricultural Extension program) against those little ones that Combat ant traps don't seem to work on.

I used the Combat ant traps, but maybe Theo's product would be the move to make.

Same here. We had a run-in with the little buggers last summer. I was at the hardware store and asked the owner what he recommended and it was Terro. Good stuff. It got rid of the ants and uncles.

Having had a problem with ants, I bought a bottle of boric acid. I generally make a solution of about 5 % boric acid to water, and added just drop of honey. Mix it in a milk cap and throw a cotton ball in it. Keep the cotton ball moist, and the ants should disappear with just a little time. One bottle of boric acid should last indefinitely.
