Trying to remember jokes!
Why can I not remember jokes? Theo put a couple of knee-slappers up here, and it would be a perfect opportunity to return the favor, only I can never remember the dang things!
Been this way all my life. Plus, names. I can never remember a person's name....even seconds after we've been introduced!
The stuff I DO remember is plenty, believe me...
But names and jokes...there must be some co-relation? |

LOL.
I can't remember jokes too well either but I collect them. Mostly cut and paste into text files. The jokes I posted here were cuts and pastes into the reply box.

I'm the same way, especially with jokes. What's worse is sometimes I think I remember the jokes, so I'll start telling them....then at the punchline I realize "hmmm, I don't quite remember this joke".
I've also been embarrassed by forgeting names right after I've met people. I'll tell you a secret that helps tremendously with remembering names. When you meet someone and shake their hand and all that...soon as your are told their name, look at their face and repeat the name out loud. More than once if it can comfortably be done.
For example, you meet someone and she says "Hi, I'm Rose." And you say, "Rose. This is a lovely house you have here Rose."
Or you meet John and you might say, "John. So how are things in the old mortgage business John?"
You get the drift. I tell you, that stupid little trick helps the name stick in your brain more than you'd ever guess.

"Hey Danielle, are those your pants or mine, Danielle..."
I'm totally with ya on the name thing, Knot...what I hate most is when a woman will call me and say "hey, it's me". Great, now you've narrowed it down to 17 people!!! |
