Schwarzenegger: Federal Government Must Aid California
California Gov.-Elect Says State Gets Back 77 Cents On The Dollar
He's not even wrong. But it's a little surprising to see him turning to Washington for money that Davis could never get.

Well he did say he'd try and reduce the deficit without raising taxes and taking money from schools.
I don't know what Bush will say, perhaps he will kick us out of the country? |

there was a speech arnold gave yesterday. it was so obvious he had no idea what he was doing and was just spitting crap out. i wish i could find it. he started out with " i talked on the phone with George Bush last night, the 41st president of the united states, and i am sure i will be asking favors from him" it was just pointless info IMO

Well, if California deserves money because they get 77 cents on every dollar they sent to Washington, what about Florida? Florida gets $12.5 Billion more than they send in. George needs to have a little talk with Jeb because we need that money back now.

Just out of curiosity: 41st or 43rd? 41st can't help him much, I'm afraid.

That's what governors do!
But for substance, you really ought to look at the people he is appointing to his "fix Collifornea" comittee! He is pulling up a mix of people like no one has ever done before. This is not really a "political administration" in the style we are accoustomed to.
They are liberals, conservatives, moderates, you name it! Willie Brown? (He was the reason for term limits in California because he had so much power and was in a too safe district).
He may actually care about the people!

Well, he is certainly sincere. But I only have questions on his abilities to govern the nation's richest and largest state with an economy larger than most countries in the world.
In this complex socio-economic mess that Davis made, I doubt anybody can make a diference so easily. True, there will be less corruption, less lobbying and so on.
But Arnold lacks the depth and breadth of political wisdon and economic acumen to even begin to understand California; forget about extricating it.
